The Story
This was one of those projects that was simply too exciting to keep to myself. Every time I sat down to edit Bill Golembeski’s first novel, I found myself reading excerpts of it to my wife when I should have been paying attention to what I was doing.
The story is essentially about a young high school graduate trying to uncover the meaning of life in the 1970s. He decides to take up temporary residence at his uncle’s abandoned cabin in the wilds of Wisconsin. There, he meets a band. Their mascot is a dancing English Setter named Lola.
Golembeski’s expert weaving of narrative and unique voice are always a pleasure for me to read. I thoroughly enjoyed editing this book.
